Triumphing Over Financial Obstacles: Our Favorite Customer Success Stories

Accountants and Bookkeepers as the unexpected heroes of the story? It happens! In the movies, it goes like this: The accountant is not the “hero type.” In the script, they’re always “mild-mannered.” Thanks to their smarts, savvy, and creative thinking, they are the ones who win the day.

Think Jonathan “The Duke” Mardukas in Midnight Run, Oscar Wallace in The Untouchables, or even forensic accountant Allen Gamble in The Other Guys.

In real life, we’re not all taking down the crime syndicates and foiling major embezzlement schemes. The everyday problems we solve are actually “mild-mannered.” Nonetheless, we love it when we can be the superhero in a company’s story. Here are some of our favorites.

Local pharmacy’s antiquated bill payment process got a 21st-century makeover. This neighborhood pharmacy has a decades-long reputation for being friendly and caring. They have been a family business for over 40 years. Unfortunately, their bill payment process was almost as old, and it was slowing them down.

Our client had a manual process. They would deliver their bills to us weekly. We’d pay them and deliver the checks back, then the client would sign each check and snail mail it out. Tedious, right? We helped streamline their weekly bill payment process. Now, the client sends us a package, and we scan everything into a bill payment app. Instead of signing every check, the client approves every bill, and each payment automatically gets sent out!

A wholesale décor company needed payroll automation ASAP: This six-employee company is known for creating long-lasting relationships with customers. Unfortunately, their long-standing relationship with a manual payroll process created a huge mess. As a result, payroll taxes were not paid and they were in trouble with the IRS. We on-boarded the client to our payroll partner, ADP. Now, their payroll process is efficient and headache-free. The payroll taxes are automatically paid, manual checks are no longer issued, and hours are correctly tracked.

A catering and event production company wanted to grow, but how? They are well known for creating magical events. Their success led them to decide that it was time to grow. They came to us wondering: Were they financially ready to acquire another catering company? We provided consulting services to help them make this strategic decision. We’re happy to note, the client took our advice, and the acquisition is creating growth.
