It’s been a really great summer! My family and I took a fantastic vacation; I have been able to grow my business and I brought on some really great employees. Marisol Gimenez is among our cream of the crop, so this month we’re focusing our employee spotlight on Marisol.
Marisol joined the Brigade Bookkeeping Team as a bookkeeper in February of this year. She is a rare breed because she was not only born, but also raised in Miami. She attended Florida International University (FIU) and graduated FIU with a bachelor’s in business administration and finance. She has been working in the accounting and finance field for almost 20 years.
Marisol loves numbers. Throughout her career, she has stayed within the accounting and finance track. She has worked in a number of industries, including non-profit, apparel manufacturing, captive reinsurance, property management accounting, and even print media.
Besides loving numbers, Marisol and I have another thing in common. She met her sweetheart, Kirk Gimenez, in high school. They have been married for almost 17 years. Because of Kirk’s work, Marisol has moved around a lot and has lived in Washington State, Connecticut, and in the New York City/New Jersey area. But after 15 years of moves, Marisol and Kirk are happy to be back home and away from what Marisol says are “those awful Northeast winters. BRRR!!!”
Marisol and Kirk now have a rambunctious 3-and-a-half year old to chase after. The whole family loves to do things outdoors in the warm sunshine. Marisol also adores spending time with friends and family who she missed so much.
But what does Marisol love most about her job? She says the best part of working back in Miami is the Brigade team (aaaahhh thanks!). “We have a boss that cares and values her employees and co-workers that are always willing to help and support you; definitely a warm family feel,” says Marisol. “They’ve welcomed me with open arms which makes coming to work a pleasure,” she added. Marisol, we love having you here too!
